“FLORIDA” –  IMO:9568469 – Flag: United States of America – Type: Tanker
On June 27, the U.S. Coast Guard was investigating the collision of the tug “Ingot” with the “Florida” during a dockingmanoever at the Valdez Marine Terminal. The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation was helping with the investigation. The incident happened in calm weather and raised questions about whether the incoming crews need more time to become proficient on the new tugs. Tug operator Edison Chouest was the process of taking over a 10-year contract from longtime operator Crowley Marine to provide tanker-escort and spill-prevention duties at the terminal where North Slope crude oil is loaded onto tankers. The official transition date was July 2. Edison is replacing Crowley’s 250-person workforce with its own crews, and has built several tugs and barges for the job at its 48 shipyards. In the morning of June 27, the “Ingot” struck the “Florida” while assisting the tanker to dock at the terminal. The contact left a dent in the hull about 20 inches long, six inches wide, and three inches deep Officials with the Coast Guard and the American Bureau of Shipping inspected the double-hulled tanker after the accident. They allowed the tanker to load oil and sail as originally planned on June 28 at 1 p.m., bound to Nikiski.

“APL GULF EXPRESS” – IMO:9239874 – Flag: United States of America – Type: Container Ship
On June 28, the ‘APL Gulf Express’, while being berthed at Shuwaikh port, lost eight containers overboard. The circumstances of the accident were yet unknown. Divers have recovered the empty containers. The agency’s maritime operations department immediately reacted to the rescue operation, which continued until the evening of June 29. According to the Kuwait Port Authority, all containers were recovered. On July 2 the ship, which had come from Sharjah, was still docked at berth 9.

“MANOUK” – ENI:02326370 – Flag:  Netherlands – Type: Tanker
On June 29, the “Enyo”, 1808 ts (EU-No.: 4007090), and the “Manouk”, 3056dwt (EU-No.: 244670068) were in collision on the Rhine south of Königswinter. The “Enyo” suffered a leak in the foreship and ran aground after the accident with the bow being submerged. The fire brigade Bonn, Bad Honnef and Königswinter as well as the water police were on scene and started surveys aboard the grounded ship. trying to prevent it from blocking the fairway. The “Manouk” which was carrying a cargo of xylol was lying some hundred meters downstream. No spill was reported, but the ship had suffered a leak too. About 30 cubic meters water poured into a tween deck of the vessel which had been breached at starboard side. Two crew members of the “Enyo” suffered slight injuries and were treated by the rescue forces. She had sailed from Godorf on June 27 and was bound to Waldorf. Ship traffic was guided along the accident site with slow speed.
