“Vessel Casualty Report gives details of vessels which have met with some casualty while carrying cargo from one Port to another and which may have resulted in (i) loss/damage to the cargo carried in the vessel or (ii) General Average Loss/Expenditure.

Please go through the Casualty Report and check whether your cargo had been carried in any of the vessels mentioned therein and check with your Cargo Handling Agents whether there is any loss/damage to your cargo.  If yes, we can help you in arranging survey and doing other formalities related to the Insurance Claim.

Even if there is no loss/damage to your cargo, there may be a General Average Loss/Expenditure incurred by other Cargo Owners /Shipping Co. for which the Shipping Company may send you notice demanding your share of loss. Similarly, in case your cargo is part of the General Average Loss, you need to recover the loss. In such events also, we can help you in completing the Insurance formalities”.

“ALI K” – IMO:7341702 – Flag: Moldova – Type: Cargo Ship  
On September 25, the ‘Ali K.’ en route from Constanta to Beirut, suffered a technical failure and sheltered at Cesme anchorage.  Repairs were being carried out by the crew and the vessel resumed its voyage with an ETA as of September 27.

“MONTELAURA” –  IMO:7625500 –  Flag: Panama – Type: Cargo Ship
On September 26, the “Montelaura” was in collision with the local fishing vessel ‘Al Akhawayan’, about 35 miles west of Dakhla, while en route from Caraminal to Gabon. The fishing vessel sank, and of the 16 crew members on board five were rescued and 11 went missing. An SAR operation was under way. The reefer moored at Dakhla anchorage on September 27 at 9.15 a.m.

“MSC MINA” – IMO:9839260 – Flag: Panama  – Type: Cargo Ship
On September 27, the ‘MSC Mina’ with a crew of 26 on board, suffered problems with the engine in position 50 00 58.8 N, 003 13 09.0 W. The vessel was subsequently tested at a speed of under 15 knots. The Jobourg traffic handed over the vessel to Solent Coastguard. It was enroute from Rotterdam to Suez with an ETA as of October

“WUGANG ATLANTIC” – IMO:9085352 – Flag: Liberia  – Type: Cargo Ship
On September 29, the bulk carrier ‘Berge Phan Xi Pang’, coming from Itaqi, was in collision with the ‘Wugang Atlantic’ while manoevering in the Bay of São Marcos off São Luís, and the  at the Terminal Marítimo de Ponta da Madeira. The port captain of Maranhão launched an investigation into the cause. No pollutants and no injuries were reported.
