“Vessel Casualty Report gives details of vessels which have met with some casualty while carrying cargo from one Port to another and which may have resulted in (i) loss/damage to the cargo carried in the vessel or (ii) General Average Loss/Expenditure.
Please go through the Casualty Report and check whether your cargo had been carried in any of the vessels mentioned therein and check with your Cargo Handling Agents whether there is any loss/damage to your cargo. If yes, we can help you in arranging the survey and doing other formalities related to the Insurance Claim.
Even if there is no loss/damage to your cargo, there may be a General Average Loss/Expenditure incurred by other Cargo Owners /Shipping Co. for which the Shipping Company may send you notice demanding your share of loss. Similarly, in case your cargo is part of the General Average Loss, you need to recover the loss. In such events also, we can help you in completing the Insurance formalities”.

Vessel Destination: EUROPE

“SILVSTAR” –  IMO:9194880 – Flag: Cyprus – Type: Bulk Carrier
On June 5, the “Silverstar”, en route from Lisboa, ran into the Southern embankment of the Kiel Canal at Kudensee during the eastbound transit of the waterway. The ship pulled itself out with own power and berthed in Kiel at for inspections. On the following day, the ship continued the voyage to Tallinn, ETA June 8.

“FINT” – ENI:04033370 – Flag: Netherlands – Type: Tanker
On June 12, smoke emerged from the “Fint”, en route from Duisburg to Birsfelden with a cargo of 2190 tons diesel, on the Rhine 300 meters off the Zoo Bridge in Colonia. It turned out that a diesel fuel line had ruptured, and fuel spilt onto the turbo charger causing the smoke development. The insulation which was smoldering was removed from the engine room, and the barge taken alongside a fire boat and berthed in Colonia. It was planned to tow the disabled vessel to Mülheim for repairs.

“ANDRE-MICHEL1” – IMO:8511914 – Flag: Malta – Type: General Cargo Ship
On June 5, the “Andre Michel 1”, en route from Kherson to Sfax, suffered engine failure shortly after passing the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in the northern Bosphorus, and went adrift. The vessel was taken in tow and safely pulled to Buyukdere Anchorage with the help of the tug “Kurtarma 3” where it was still moored off Çayırbaşı on June 6. On June 10, the vessel resumed the voyage to Sfax, ETA June 15.

“YAMAL KRECHET” – IMO:9202041 – Flag: Russia – Type: General Cargo Ship
On June 3, the “Yamal Krechet”, en route from Murmansk and bound to Sabetta, lost its starboard anchor with chain in the Dolgaya Bay, north of Vaygach island, in the Kara Sea. Anchor chain inadvertently slacked away, tearing off the chain brake, so both anchor and chain were lost.

“CHEMROAD JOURNEY” – IMO:9414254 – Flag: Cayman Islands – Type: Tanker
On June 11, the “Chemroad Journey” ran aground of 28 miles from Phu Quy island off the Vietnamese coast off Phan Thiet city in the South China sea. The ship was probably breached and developed a list of 15 degrees to port. The ship was underway from Al Jubail to Zhuhai when it got stuck.

“IOLCOS VISION” – IMO:9425148 – Flag: Malta – Type: Bulk Carrier
On June 6, the “Iolcos Vision” ran aground on the Paraná river at km mark 341 in the Ramallo area while proceeding downstream. The ship was refloated on the following day, by own means, and resumed sailing to Imbituba, ETA June 10.

“TONG SHUN” – IMO:9646211 – Flag: Panama – Type: Bulk Carrier
On June 7, the “Tong Shun”, which was berthed at warehouse 21/22 in Santos port since June 6 to load 30.850 tons of soy, in addition to 38.796 tons already loaded, suffered water ingress in its ballast tanks. The bulk carrier got stuck on the bottom at its berth in a water depth of 13,2 meters because of the extra draft. A hull breach was believed to be the cause of the water intrusion, but the source has not yet been found. The divers checked the hull and the flooded tanks on June 9.
